The shape matching part makes this way more interesting than a plain ring stacker — my nephew actually has to think about which piece goes where to build the rocket. The pieces are chunky enough for little hands and the paint hasn't chipped after a few weeks of daily play.
My two-year-old figured out the stacking order on her own by day three, and now she narrates the colors while she builds the rocket. The seven wooden pieces are chunky enough for small hands to grip without frustration.
I wish the rocket tip fit a bit more snugly, but the stacking and shape-matching rings keep my toddler engaged for a good 15 minutes. The wood feels smooth and sturdy.
